Manhattan Classic Car Club
This project for the Manhattan Classic Car Club started out simple and became complicated very quickly. Mostly due to my ambition, the size of the wall, and the technical problems of a horrible surface to paint on. I ended up visiting a famous graffiti artist, Logan Hicks, to pick his brain about how to get things done. I collected a few assistants and we covered the 10'x65' wall with several of the club's cars, a dog of one of the owners and some of my favorite subject matter. Human figure and industrial back grounds.
Hermes wanted a graphic novel look for their fall windows. I worked with a company called Two Seven that fabricated the boards and prepped them. Randall Yaw conceived the idea and I created the art that filled twenty one panels, four of which were 4'x8'. They enjoyed the work so much they extended the job to another seventeen panels for the new store opening in Chicago a month later.
Teaming up with Two Seven and Randall Yaw again for a winter set of windows. I had to create four 4'x8' panels six horses, and four life sized figures. These were more closely tied to Albrecht Durer. These designs ended up receiving silver leaf accents. They extended the job to include enough art for the flagship store in Manhattan, but also their Wall Street location. Special thanks to my friend Mark Texeira for helping me get a lot of work finished in a short amount of time!
