I enjoy deconstructing the human figure. I was trying to be aware of the aesthetic that influenced how or why I do it the way I do by trying it with animals. This way I'm not as influenced by the preconceptions I might have had about a shoulder, a hip, etc. of a human. So yeah, I'm doing animal experimentation. But now animals were harmed in the making of these paintings. I did have a studio cat I'd pet once in a while but I think he liked it.
Just ask and I'll explain.
The study of painting.
I like to let the images speak for themselves. They come from a combination of influences, experiences, and assumptions that have come to be me. They are also tempered with a desire to communicate to people I've never met but not be overly preachy. Most are oil on panel with some gold leaf here and there.
The drawings are all pencil on paper. Some have white gouache on them as highlights. These are part of my process of discovering the eventual painted image that you might see in the painting section. I might not do some but most I just haven't been able to get to yet.
I created the art in this section to be used. My intent is for these designs to be used for wheat pastes, and tattoos and the like. If you want to use them for other things I would hope you are honest enough to compensate me fairly. If you turn out to be the next Apple, or Google, I hope you at least throw my name out there with a thank you!
