Laying down some graphite on a panel. This year seems to be about following, or searching. I never feel as if I know everything I need to know. Looking over someone's shoulder is safer? Unless it's the shoulder of a sociopath. My favorite movie opening that I've seen is from "The Wrestler". I thought it was really powerful how it immediately engages you into the character's world. Maybe it was done before in another movie, but this is the one I saw. I recently attended the opening for Phil Hale at Jonathan Levine Gallery. I've loved his work for years! Rick Berry was there and I've always liked his work when I saw it too. The funny part to me is Rick did all the covers for Animal Man when I pencilled that title for DC Vertigo comics back in the early 90's. I was always aggravated that they wouldn't let me paint the covers.I had to admit they looked cool as shit! So how disappointed can you be? I'm so glad I've had the opportunity to meet him in person.
