Warming up the hand machine to produce the goods and services with art biproducts. Getting back in touch with my Moebius influence. Back when I did comics (now 20 yrs ago!) I came across Moebius' work and totally wrecked my concept of comic art. It was definitely fine art the way he did it. I was drawing Ghost Rider. Not my character, and so I never went beyond what was asked of me. Marvel could inspire some really fantastic art if they actually gave the artists the incentive to stick with them. I had a lot of thoughts on the characters I worked on but it wouldn't have advanced me any farther and then that idea would be theirs to exploit and not mine. Moebius inspired me and made me ready to move past work for hire. His art was beautiful and dealt with more ideas. And here are some drawings out of my sketch pad. Comments are closed.
