I wasn't feeling it this session at Spring Street. The models were fascinating but my brain seemed to have a disconnect with my hand while I was drawing. I haven't been drawing from life as much as I should. I wasn't crazy that the guy had this long beard covering his chin and collar bone area. I'm trying to get a handle on these intricacies and he's hiding them in hair! I really struggled with the two very different body types as well. They threw my proportions off the whole time. While I am complaining about these things, they are also why I enjoyed this session. I had to look harder. That's a good thing. This is one of the poses, maybe 10 minutes? that I drew with just a marker. No pencil, just the marker. I was forcing myself to make a decision on a line and live with it instead of measure it out, lightly sketch it in, and then drop in a line. I need to do this a little more it seems. I kept wanting to draw his head much larger than it was. I was also drawing her lower legs longer than they were as well.
