I haven't been painting any paintings this summer. I did manage to clean up my palette and purchased a few tubes of oil paint and some brushes. One thing that bumms me out a bit is the closing of New York Central art supply. The extreme prices of real estate in NYC have killed yet another mom and pop small business. The fellow who owned the building in the very expensive East Village area was also the owner of the art supply store. He finally died this year and his son who inherited everything really didn't care about the business as much as the pile of money he could get for selling the building. They easily had the best paper department in the city. I once again will be on a search for new sources to find the paper I need to make what I do! Sketching out ideas for paintings.
